Do you want to improve CIVILITY?.
The Door County League of Women Voters cordially invites interested individuals, community leaders, organizations and League members to an informational meeting on the topic of CIVILITY. Dr. Tom Grogan of the University of Wisconsin, Oshkosh will share the steps taken by the community of Oshkosh as they developed the Oshkosh Civility Project. The exciting meeting will be held on Monday, February 4th from 8:30-10:30 AM in the First Floor Meeting Room at Sturgeon Bay City Hall, 421 Michigan Street.
The Oshkosh Civility Project's work built upon efforts taking place in communities throughout the region, state, nation and world. They used the "Speak Your Peace" promotional materials that were developed in Duluth-Superior and successfully used in Truckee-Tahoe, California, among other places. Dr. P. M. Forni the author of "Choosing Civility" and "The Civility Solution." helped advise the efforts to form the Oshkosh Civility Project. In many ways, he is the leading authority on the principles, the practices and the promise of civility as a guide to individual and group action. |
